A distinguished Egyptian physician joined the board of trustees of the Magdi Yacoub Institute in London
Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, the world-renowned Egyptian surgeon, has appointed Professor Hatem Soliman, Consultant in Cardiac Critical Care and Assistant Professor in Cardiology at King’s College London, to the Board of Trustees of the Magdi Yacoub Institute in London.
The board is chaired by Professor Sir Yacoub and comprises a select group of prominent figures in the medical and surgical field, including the world renowned surgeon Professor Asghar Khaghani, and Professor Mahmoud Barbir, a leading cardiologist in London. Professor Soliman also serves as the lead of the Organ Donation Program at Harefield Hospital.
About the Magdi Yacoub Institute charity, it was established in 1980 in London and was dedicated to advancing medical research and humanitarian services in the fields of cardiovascular diseases.
It is also noteworthy that in December last year, Professor Hatem Soliman was elected as the Secretary and Executive Board Member of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging within the European Society of Cardiology, making him the first Egyptian, Arab, and African to hold this prestigious position.

In a special interview with Mostaqbal Watan News, He highlighted how honored he felt to represent Egypt abroad, emphasizing that Egypt is home to many outstanding individuals who raise the country’s flag internationally. He also acknowledged the strong support of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the nation’s leadership.
"I thank God for His grace and generosity. My journey has been filled with challenges, but I held onto hope, trust in God, and worked tirelessly. Never give up on your dreams. With determination and faith, you can achieve the seemingly impossible," said Dr. Soliman.
"I am truly thankful for all the opportunities provided by the United Kingdom, as well as for the immense support from my colleagues in the European Society of Cardiology. Praise be to God always," he added.
